I found this picture while cruising around the internet.  Any comments?  For example, why is Gary Pinkel wearing a coat for an indoor photo?

The Centralia Panthers started off hot against the visiting Panthers from Monroe City.  With Stuart Cox leading the way in the first quarter, Centralia pulled out to a double-digit lead until Monroe hit a late 3-pointer to make the score 19-10 at the end of one.  With seemingly no answer for Centralia's solid defensive effort, Monroe had trouble keeping control of the ball which led to several Centralia breakaways.  Centralia went in at the half up 38-20.

In the second half, it was more of the same with Centralia expanding on their lead slightly 50-31.  A lot of the fourth quarter was played with non-starters and the final score was 50-39.  The win brought Centralia's CCC mark to 5-1 and dropped Monroe City to 0-6.

In a matchup of teams unbeaten in CCC play, the Panthers from Centralia bested the Panthers from Monroe City.  Centralia got off to a fast start, taking a 10-4 lead early in the first quarter.  After a Monroe City timeout, MC pulled the game to within two points by the end of the quarter.  Centralia led 12-10 at the end of one.

Monroe City's scrappy defense took control in the second quarter and they pulled out to a 5-point lead at the end of the half, 22-17.  The third quarter saw Monroe still playing aggressive defense.  With no girl over about 5' 8", Monroe still played tough and even had a 6-point lead in the 3rd quarter.  At the end of the third quarter, the score was knotted at 28.

The final frame started off much like rest of the game had been... aggressive and back and forth... until later in the fourth when Centralia applied some pressure.  Monroe City seemed to be a little worn out late and turned the ball over more, leading to Centralia buckets.  Centralia pulled ahead and then had fairly solid free throws to ice the game, 47-42.  The win bumps Centralia's CCC mark to 6-0 while dropping Monroe City to 5-1.

I took this outside my house just passing time the other night.  After a bit of photo-editing, here's what I got.

Centralia Boys Beat Macon 53-49

In a closely matched game, the Panthers held on for a victory with critical free throws and huge threes by Denver Horn.  After watching the girls game and their scoring struggles, I was hoping for more scoring in the boys game.  The first half was anything but.  The Panthers held on to a 6-point lead at the break, 18-12.  The Panthers were lead by Alec Ford combination of agressive drives and outside shooting.

In the second half, the scoring picked up and Macon closed the gap to two points by the end of the 3rd quarter, 32-30.  In the fourth quarter, the Panther's lead evaporated and they found themselves down 5 points late.  Right on cue, Denver Horn nailed two big 3-pointers on consecutive trips and Stuart Cox scored several inside shots late to pull the Panthers back into the lead.  Solid free throw shooting by Dixon Dollens and others provided the cushion late.
